DJ Stylus The Vibe Conductor

Vibe Conductor Left Coast Mini Tour, Oct. 7 – 10

I haven’t been to California since the beginning of the last Bush administration. This is tragic and I have finally made amends. I’m very excited to rock with cats I look up to in the game, the DJs I listen to when I’m not DJ’ing and whom I also consider good peoples. If you’ve got folk out west, tell them to come through and get a taste of D.C.’s own. I like new friends.

Yoruba Dance Sessions with residents Carlos Mena and Cecil.
Special guest: DJ Stylus

510 17th St
Oakland, CA
9pm – 2am, $5
deep, global dance grooves

After killing many a party with Casamena and Ocha creations and many discussions about connecting in either his city or mine, I’m honored to finally have a chance to play with brother Carlos and his partner Cecil.

The homie J-Boogie will be on the road and asked me to fill in for him at his jam with Blanco Brother Sake-1. Oh hell yeah.

Crane’s Hollywood Tavern

anything you could possibly imagine partying to, and then other stuff

Over five years, this outdoor party has evolved into THE place to catch the world’s best open format, progressive DJ talent get loose with no agenda other than to rock how they see fit. We’re talking about the elite of hip-hop, electronic, soul, rare groove, and world music selectors playing what is essentially a backyard bbq to a crowd open to whatever direction the evening happens to travel. I’ve been to one Do Over (at WMC) and it blew my head. Hearing unbelievable live sets from cats like DJ Day, Quantic, King Most and of course the Magnificent Jazzy Jeff have me extra stoopit syced to go out there and get busy.
